One of the “Grand Resorts” in the Catskills, along with the Concord. Hostess Jennie Grossinger, the daughter of the founders, was the very popular and visible hostess at the resort. At its height, in 1972, the resort had 150,000 guests a year!
It was considered the inspiration for the film, “Dirty Dancing.” It closed in 1976.
