If you spent summers in the Catskills, you went to the Catskill Game Farm! Every camp had a trip there once a summer, every family who sought some new reason to venture out of the bungalow colonies found their way there, too.
How could you go wrong? You could walk the grounds, feed the deer, the llamas, or the camels! You put your money in the machine and feed for the animals that came out. Fun for guests, a good deal for owners who could save on food. It had more than 2,000 animals on-site during its heyday.
It opened in 1933 and by the time it closed in 2006, it still looked like it was 1933.
